Tropical storm Bret has formed just north of the Bahamas. It will move north northeast away from the U.S. Tropical storm warnings are in effect for the northern Bahamas and will likely be downgraded by tomorrow.

Tuesday Morning Update
Bret weakens - staying offshore
Bret looks very weak and may not even be a tropical storm any longer. NHC's estimate looks too high. Bret will stay offshore with very little effects except a few rain bands in the northern Bahamas.
As of 6 am edt Bret was centered at 29.3 N / 76.4 W or about 205 miles north northeast of Great Abaco. It was moving nne at 7 mph. Top sustained winds estimated at 40 mph ( 50 mph NHC advisory). Pressure was estimated at 1000 mb.
