Rich Johnson - Certified Broadcast Meteorologist

Thanks for visiting my resume page! Here you will find my resume and philosophy as a meteorologist. I have also included links to my Weather Channel, Knoxville, Bryan / College Station and Birmingham weathercasts. I have extensive experience as a forecaster and broadcast meteorologist. Twenty five of those years were as a broadcast meteorologist and forecaster at The Weather Channel. I covered countless severe weather events including Hurricane Hugo, Hurricane Andrew, Hurricane Katrina and many tornado outbreaks. I have given school talks and seminars on hurricanes, snow forecasting, and severe weather.

My expertise is in covering severe weather, especially hurricanes and tornadoes. I received my training from whom I believe was one of the world's best hurricane forecasters....John Hope. My television seals are approved both for local and national stations. I am familiar with WSI, Baron and Weather Central graphics systems.

My weather philosophy is actually very simple - I have the best job in the world covering weather and love to show my enthusiasm about it to my viewers!
