What's the Weather Like When Traveling to Martinique?
Martinique is the northernmost island of the Windward Islands located in the eastern Caribbean Sea. The Caribbean Sea is on the west side of the island and Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side. It has beautiful scenery including Mount Pelee which is a volcanic mountain over 4,500 feet high. The island has a population of approximately 385,000 people.
Martinique Rainfall
Martinique has a wet climate with about 80 inches of rain per year on average. The wettest time of year occurs as tropical waves bring an increase in showers during hurricane season. There may be two or three days with sunshine then an increase in showers with a tropical wave. Scattered showers commonly build with daytime heating especially during the summer. Thunderstorms are actually not that common with only five or six thunderstorm days in each of the summer months. Rainfall amounts total eight to eleven inches during July through November on average. The driest time of year occurs from late winter to early spring where three to four inches of rainfall occurs on the average month.

Temperatures on Martinique are quite uniform all year long. Daytime highs range from the low 80's in the winter to upper 80's in the summer. Morning low temperatures vary even less with lows in the low 70's during the winter and mid 70's during the summer.
