Hurricane Elsa
July 6, 2021
Elsa formed east of the Windward Islands on July 1st. Top winds reached 85 mph south of the Dominican Republic. It continued generally west northwest eventually crossing central Cuba. Elsa turned north into the eastern Gulf of Mexico offshore of the west coast of Florida. It supposedly restrengthed into a minimal hurricane briely at this point. Elsa became disorganized as it moved inland over the Big Bend of Florida bringing heavy rainfall northward into southeastern Georgia and into the Carolinas.

Hurricane Grace
August 22, 2021
A tropical depression formed east of the Lesser Antilles on August 13th. It continued westward into the Caribbean Sea, but had a difficult time organizing. Grace finally started organizing quickly just east of the Yucatan and made landfall near Cozumel, Mexico on the 19th. Grace weakened over the Yucatan, but quickly restrengthened over the Bay of Campeche to 125 mph just before landfall just south of Tuxpan.

Hurricane Henri
August 21, 2021
TD 8 formed ESE of Bermuda on August 16 in a highly sheered environment. Wind sheer lessened the next few days and Henri strengthened into a hurricane. Upper air winds
picked up again and moved Henri rapidly from well east of the Cape Hatteras on the 21st to making landfall over Rhode Island the next day as a minimal hurricane.

Hurricane Ida
August 29, 2021
Ida will be remembered as a powerful hurricane in the northern Gulf, as well as causing widespread flooding in the northeastern U.S. It formed west of Jamaica on August 26th and lifted north, moving across western Cuba. Ida rapidly strengthened in the central Gulf of Mexico, reaching 150 mph before making landfall on the southeastern coast of Louisiana on the 29th.
Ida was a prolific rainfall producer in the Northeast with heavy rain falling from Maryland to Massachusettes. New York City was hit hard by flooding with over 7" of rain reported at Central Park. Several tornadoes were also associated with Ida with the strongest ones near Philadelphia. At least 67 people died from Ida.

Hurricane Larry
September 4, 2021
A tropical disturbance formed south of the Cabo Verde islands on the last day of August. It steadily strengthened over the next few days into Hurricane Larry. Larry turned northwest well east of the Lesser Antilles, but large swell was still seen. Larry continued northwest and then turned north to pass comfortably east of Bermuda. Bermuda, the eastern U.S. coast also experienced large swell. On the evening of September 10th, Larry crossed Newfoundland, Canada causing power outages. The following day it became extratropical as it passed south of Greenland.

Hurricane Nicholas
September 13, 2021
Nicholas formed in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico east of northeastern Mexico and drifted north making landfall on the central Texas coast on September 13th. NHC briefly made Nicholas a minimal hurricane just before landfall. This was based on Hurricane Hunter wind reports.

Hurricane Sam
September 26, 2021
Sam formed in the deep tropics southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands on the 22nd of September. A long east-west convergence line appeared as a "tail" stretching from Sam to the African coast. Sam steadily increased in strength as it moved west northwest in the open North Atlantic Ocean. It maxed out in intensity at 150 mph on September 26th with a small eye and solid eyewall. A weakeness in the upper air ridge allowed Sam to make a northwest turn east of the Lesser Antilles.
