Recon investigating
Franklin has a massive area of convection associated with it. A recon is currently investigating with more data to come in soon.

Franklin stationary
Satellite imagery shows a burst of deep convection south of the low center and another area well to the east.

Tuesday Late Morning Update

Franklin moving again
Franklin has stalled for a while, so this will delay the landfall on the southern Dominican Republic coast until later tonight. The high terrain will disrupt the circulation then it will strengthen again near the Turks and Caicos and eventually east of the Bahamas.

Wednesday Evening Update

Franklin moving again
Franklin is now NE of the Dominican Republic coast. Passing over Hispaniola disrupted the circulation, but it is expected to organize again. Heavy showers are west of the circulation center, but the heaviest bands are over eastern Dominican Republic and western Puerto Rico.

Franklin changes little
Franklin is still fighting westerly shear with little change in overall satellite appearance. The low center is visible on the edge of the deep convection which extends well to the east.

Franklin's structure is better organized
Franklin is organizing and an eyewall is taking shape. Deep convection is most impressive on the SW side of the low center. As such, NHC has raised Franklin to minimal hurricane strength.

Franklin has fought off the wind shear from 24 hours ago and is on a steady path of strengthening. It will likely continue to strengthen until picking up forward speed as it passes to the NW of Bermuda.

Franklin to the west of Bermuda
Satellite imagery shows that the eye of Franklin has filled. Outflow remains impressive all quadrants. Bermuda will see heavy surf, rain from the outer bands and winds to tropical storm force.
