Sergio strengthens rapidly
The Weather Situation
Sergio is a major hurricane. At this time no appreciable effects are being felt in western Mexico except for possible larger than normal sea swell.
Current Tropical Weather
As of 2 PM PDT Sergio was centered at 11.2 N / 115.1 W or 875 miles SSW of the southern tip of the Baja. It was moving west at 13 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 115 mph. Pressure was estimated at 965 mb.
Tropical Weather Forecast:
Sergio will move WNW staying well west of Mexico the next several days.

As of 2 PM PDT Sergio was centered at 13.3 N / 117.9 W or 845 miles SW of the southern tip of the Baja. It was moving NW at 9 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 125 mph. Pressure was estimated at 955 mb.

Sergio is well SW of Mexico and will not be a threat over the next several days.
