Friday Afternoon Update

Enrique staying offshore for now

The Weather Situation
Enrique remains offshore and the heaviest rainfall / wind will also. Despite this, flash flooding and tropical storm force winds can still be expected on the coast and into the mountains.

Current tropical weather
As of 4:00 PM CDT Tropical Storm Enrique was centered at 15.9 N / 103.3 W or 225 miles SSE of Manzanillo, Mexico. It was moving WNW at 8 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 50 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1002 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Enrique still may effect the west-central coast as well as the southern Baja late this weekend into early next week.

Sunday Midday Update

Heavy rainfall main threat

The Weather Situation
Enrique remains offshore of the western Mexico coast. Satellite imagery shows that the eye is covered in clouds and that the deepest convection associated with the strongest winds is offshore. Flash flooding and tropical storm force winds can still be expected on the coast and into the mountains.

Current tropical weather
As of 10:00 AM CDT Hurricane Enrique was centered at 18.2 N / 105.9 W or 415 miles SE of Cabo San Lucas Mexico. It was moving north at 6 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 90 mph. Pressure was estimated at 977 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Enrique is tracking toward the southern Baja slowly. It will weaken as it approaches land by late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Monday Evening Update

Enrique weakening

The Weather Situation
Enrique is moving over cooler water and fighting wind shear. The southern half of the circulation over water currently holds the heaviest rain and strongest winds.

Current tropical weather
As of 6:00 PM MDT Tropical Storm Enrique was centered at 20.9 N / 107.3 W or 225 miles SE of Cabo San Lucas Mexico. It was moving NW at 6 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 65 mph. Pressure was estimated at 988 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Enrique is tracking toward the southern Baja slowly. It will weaken as it approaches land by late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Tuesday Evening Update

Enrique

The Weather Situation
Enrique is over the southern Sea of Cortez as a minimal tropical storm. Only one small burst of convection remains near the center of circulation.

Current tropical weather
As of 3:00 PM MDT Tropical Storm Enrique was centered at 23.2 N / 108.3 W or 105 miles ENE of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. It was moving NW at 9 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1008 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Enrique will make landfall on the southeast coast of the southern Baja by tomorrow morning.
