Wednesday Morning Update

Gabrielle well NW of the Cabo Verde's

The Weather Situation
Gabrielle is fighting wind shear and its southern circulation is exposed. This wind shear is likely to continue not allowing for significant strengthening.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 5:00 AM AST Gabrielle was centered at 19.6 N / 33.6 W or 1330 miles SSW of the Azores. It was moving NW at 10 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1005 MB.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Gabrielle will likely remain in the central Atlantic ocean for its lifetime.

Wednesday Evening Update

Gabrielle slightly stronger

The Weather Situation
A little more convection has developed near the center of circulation. This strengthening is seen as temporary because of wind shear, until later in the forecast period.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 5:00 PM AST Gabrielle was centered at 21.0 N / 34.0 W or 1245miles SSW of the Azores. It was moving NW at 9 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 50 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1002 MB.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Gabrielle will likely remain in the central Atlantic ocean for its lifetime. It is now predicted to become a hurricane by early next week as wind shear relaxes.

The Weather Situation
Gabrielle's center is now convection free and has been declared post tropical. It is expected to regain convection in a few days and once again become a tropical cyclone far from any land masses.

As of 5:00 AM AST Gabrielle was centered at 25.5 N / 35.6 W or 1060 miles SW of the Azores. It was moving NW at 12 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1004 MB.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Gabrielle will likely remain in the central Atlantic ocean for its lifetime. It is forecast to regain tropical characteristics for a few days.
