Drought continuing in parts of the west

Postby Florida Beach Gal » Thu Jun 19, 2014 9:56 am

Mostly of California and western Nevada continue to be in a severe drought. Areas of western Oklahoma and north Texas are too. The desert southwest can go into multi-year droughts, even multi-decade. This drought could be the start of prolonged dryness and they are now in the dry season.

I've seen this story in the news. My only question is that isn't this area part of the desert already? Like Nevada and parts of California?

Parts of this area are in the desert, but many locations are good for agriculture.

I'm thankful that here in eastern NC we have been getting thunderstorms every few days.
