Sunday Morning Update

Fred trying to organize again

The Weather Situation
Per the previous update, NHC declared Fred dissipated yesterday afternoon. Satellite imagery had confirmed that the circulation center of Fred did not support a tropical cyclone classification any longer. This morning deep convection is building with two separate centers. Jet stream winds aloft injected some energy into Fred allowing for some strengthening. Even though winds are at tropical storm force, Fred is not a cyclone again yet. A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is investigating to see if either center has a low level circulation.

Current tropical weather
As of 8:00 AM EDT Dissipated Fred was centered at 25.3 N / 84.6 W or about 390 miles SSE of Pensacola, Florida. It was moving NNW at 8 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1009 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Forecast models reorganize Fred today in the eastern Gulf and bring it ashore on the western panhandle of Florida Monday afternoon. It will make landfall as a tropical storm.
