More weather channel lay offs
Over the past few days more behind the scenes people were laid off. Early next week we'll see if more on camera people will be let go. The first guess it that none will be. Ratings continue to be poor for the Sam Champion show.

Any more news on the weather channel lay offs? I would think that this may signal a buy out too.

I think that you may be right. I think most people look online now. I really think the end of the TV weather channel is in the near future.

I like Sam, but the show is brutal. More like an NBC news magazine, which doesn't hit my sweet spot. I like Jen, competent meteorologist, but the other fluff is annoying.

IMO, NBC is a news organization and only knew how to do one thing - make a news show. They just didn't ever get it. Weather Channel = only weather news.

I don't know if companies like the weather channel and CNN are simply mismanaged or if their viewers are getting news / forecasts from the internet. I suspect it's both. Layoffs many times indicates that a company is going under or is about to be sold.

The "shoe always drops" at the end of the fiscal year around November / December. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas.

NBC's cable stations are all recieving poor ratings- especially MSNBC. They relish in making the news (up), slanting opinion to the left, then reporting accurately. They are just a puppet for the White House.Mr. B wrote:I don't know if companies like the weather channel and CNN are simply mismanaged or if their viewers are getting news / forecasts from the internet.
