Saturday Late Afternoon Update
Oscar near the Turks and Caicos

Oscar is a tiny hurricane. The hurricane force winds only extend five nm away from the low center. It was classified this morning as a tropical storm, then hurricane early this afternoon after a Hurricane Hunter aircraft discovered hurricane strength winds.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Oscar is predicted to move SE toward the north coast of extreme eastern Cuba, then drift northeastward into the SE Bahamas over the next few days. Intensity is difficult to estimate as small tropical cyclones can strengthen and weaken very quickly.

Oscar is affecting the extreme southeastern tip of Cuba. A recent recon has confirmed that it remains a minimal hurricane.
