Ana to be classified soon

The Weather Situation
An upper air low pressure system is gradually gaining some tropical characteristics in the western Atlantic. It poses no threat to land.



Current tropical weather
As of 8:00 PM EDT the low pressure area was centered at xx N / xx W or about 250 miles NE of Bermuda. It was moving xx at xx mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at xx mph. Pressure was estimated at xx hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
There will be a short opportunity for development before this subtropical system is sheared ahead of an approaching front from the west.

Ana a tiny system

The Weather Situation
There is a very small area of convection associated with subtropical storm Ana. An average thunderstorm complex in the Great Plains is much larger.



Current tropical weather
As of 11:00 AM EDT Subtropical Storm Ana was centered at 34.3 N / 63.0 W or about 175 miles NE of Bermuda. It was moving west at 3 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 45 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1006 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
There will be a short opportunity for development before this subtropical system is sheared ahead of an approaching front from the west.

Ana now tropical

The Weather Situation
Ana is a weak tropical cyclone with only a small amount of convection on the southern half of the circulation. It is no threat to land.

Current tropical weather
As of 5:00 AM EDT tropical Storm Ana was centered at 35.7 N / 65.0 W or about 340 miles NE of Bermuda. It was moving NE at 12 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 45 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1006 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Ana will lose convection from wind shear and be absorbed by an approaching cold front from the west. It will weaken later this evening.
