Friday Evening Update

Kyle is being sheared

The Weather Situation
Kyle, as Josephine, is being sheared. Kyle is facing strong westerly shear. The low center is on the western edge of the deep convection.

Current tropical weather
As of 5:00 PM AST Tropical Storm Kyle was centered at 37.7 N / 71.1 W or about 185 miles SE of Atlantic City, NJ. It was moving ENE 17 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1008 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Kyle is not expected to affect land and will pass well south of Nova Scotia, Canada this weekend. It will become extratropical by early next week.

Saturday Morning Update

Kyle well SE of Southern New England

The Weather Situation
Kyle IMO is close, if not already extratropical. It is still badly sheared by westerly winds and all deep convection is east of the center.

Current tropical weather
As of 5:00 AM AST Tropical Storm Kyle was centered at 38.7 N / 68.0 W or about 280 miles SE of Providence, Rhode Island. It was moving ENE 21 mph. Officially top sustained winds are estimated at 45 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1002 hPa (mb).

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Kyle is not expected to affect land and will pass well south of Nova Scotia, Canada this weekend. It will become extratropical soon.
