Willa growing

The Weather Situation
Willa is forecast to undergo rapid deepening tonight.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 4 PM CDT Willa was centered at 15.2 N / 105.8 W or 280 miles SSW of Manzanillo, Mexico. It was moving WNW at 6 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 60 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1000 mb.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Willa is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane. There is potential for it to make landfall around midweek.

Sunday Evening Update

Willa now a cat 3

The Weather Situation
Willa has intensified rapidly. Wind damage, storm surge, and flooding rainfall is a concern near the area of landfall in a few days.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 3 PM MDT Willa was centered at 17.0 N / 107.0 W or 250 miles SSW of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico. It was moving NNW at 6 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 115 mph. Pressure was estimated at 963 mb.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Willa is forecast to move inland north of Puerto Vallarta as a hurricane Tuesday.

The Weather Situation
Willa has intensified an has become a category 5 hurricane today. Wind damage, storm surge, and flooding rainfall is a concern near the area of landfall in a few days.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 12 PM MDT Willa was centered at 19.4 N / 107.2 W or 120 miles SW of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico. It was moving north at 7 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 160 mph. Pressure was estimated at 925 mb.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Willa is forecast to move inland north of Puerto Vallarta and south of Mazatlan a major hurricane Tuesday.
