Monday Night Update

Rina in open Atlantic

The Weather Situation
Rina is badly sheared with deep convection off to the east of the center. Tropical storm force winds only exist in storms in the convection.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 11:00 PM AST Rina was centered at 30.4 N / 49.9 W or 1405 miles WSW of the Azores. It was moving north at 7 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1010 MB.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Rina will move northward and become extratropical during the next few days. It is badly sheared and may not make it that long.

The Weather Situation
Rina continues to be badly sheared with deep convection off to the northeast of the center. Tropical storm force winds only exist in storms in the convection.

Current Tropical Weather
As of 11:00 AM AST Rina was centered at 32.4 N / 49.3 W or 1315 miles west of the Azores. It was moving north at 10 mph. Top sustained winds are estimated at 40 mph. Pressure was estimated at 1008 MB.

Tropical Weather Forecast:
Rina will move north into the northern north Atlantic and become extratropical during the next 24 hours. It is not a threat to land.
