An upper air low has been situated near the northwest Bahamas the last few days. Upper air lows can develop into tropical cyclones if they remain over warm enough water for them to gain tropical characteristics. A cluster of unsettled weather remains over the NW Bahamas this morning into south Florida. It is predicted to move west toward the southwestern Gulf. At this time forecast models are not showing significant development, but this area will be monitored over the weekend.
