Alex going to miss the oil spill?

It looks like good news that Alex is going to go to Mexico or Texas. At least the oil slick shouldn't be affected - right?

Operations to capture more of the escaping oil has been delayed and rough seas are causing havoc with some efforts. I doubt this system will help in regards to that but certainly its better than a direct hit

A track 500 miles farther east would have been a much bigger problem.
