Jim Cantore cusses on air
I don't know if this is usual, but he used a few bad words on a story that I saw. I know that there are lots of programs that do use foul language, but it shouldn't be on the news.

Re: Jim Cantore cusses on air
Let's put this in the proper context: Cantore was on air when a big crack of thunder(snow) :stormy: startled him. His natural reaction of "S#it"! is pretty common for most of us. I thought it was human and funny.
I know it seems like a big deal, but it's not. It's certainly not like some ignorant, spoiled athlete going off on some tirade.

Kitty:
I don't think this really has anything to do with liking him or not.
For instance, I don't care for Ms. Abrams' on camera skills either because of her forced mannerisms and loose tongued, loud, quip filled presentation, but it doesn't make her a poor meteorologist. Some people love her schtick, but it easy to get offended by her, too.
Jim Cantore made a mistake, but it was a natural reaction- nothing phony or contrived. I can give him a pass for that.
It just showed that he is human like the rest of us, and viewers can relate to that kind of reporting. It's great to have passion and love for your work, too- and I think he is a well respected meteorologist, even if you don't care for him.

Can someone please point out at what point he curses? Saying "son of a..." doesn't really count in my books.

Read nennie0's comment in the general weather thread forum, more slop for the northeast thread. That's all I'm saying.

Duly noted, Kitty-
Not something most believers may say.... but not enough to stir the type of reproach he is getting.
I'm not justifying it... but the stone casting is overkill, IMO.

Re: Jim Cantore cusses on air
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to create such a stir. I do know of others who don't like to see the name of Jesus used that way. I am not "thowirng stones". I just believe that when you are in a position of authority like Jim Cantore is, that you need to be more careful of how you conduct yourself. Words or actions that are offensive to some may not be to others. That's why some of us like a certain individual or not.

Re: Jim Cantore cusses on air
I think the whole point is "intent".
Yes, it was inappropriate. No, he didn't have any premeditated intent and I'm sure he'll be more careful.
I'd rather save my ridicule and judge the Hollywood celebs etc. that deliberately and openly mock our beliefs and force their immorality on us through their lewd tv programming innuendo and obscene films/music.
