Grace named
A very tiny mesoscale system has formed west of Europe over 20° C (68° F) water. The hurricane center has said that there is no data to confirm or deny their estimated strength of tropical storm Grace. If indeed the top sustained winds are at 70 mph, it would be over a very small area. Grace also has an eye, so why no call it a hurricane at 75 mph? We are opting for a significantly weaker system since the size of the system is so tiny.
At 5 am edt / ast tropical storm Grace was centered near 43.0° N / 18.0° W or about 585 miles northeast of the Azores. Top sustained winds are estimated at 50 mph (NHC 70 mph last advisory). Grace was moving northeast at about 30 mph.
