Another tornado outbreak
At least 100 reports of tornadoes in the south! There has been lots of damage. Tuscaloosa, Alabama was hard hit. Prayers to all involved.

Re: Another tornado outbreak
My gosh... worst outbreak since April 3-4, 1974 when 333 died- including 8 in Windsor, Ont across the Detroit river from downtown Detroit. That was when an F5 struck both the outskirts of Cincy and Xenia Ohio, destroying that town and introduced the use of sirens to warn of oncoming storms.
My thoughts and prayers to those in Indiana, Ohio, Tuscaloosa, Chattanooga area, Birmingham, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, other parts of Tennessee, and now Virginia and the east coast states. Latest reports are that over 200 are dead and that the tornado that hit both Tuscaloosa and Birmingham was estimated as a strong F3 or F4 and traveled over 300 miles.
As for our state, one confirmed tornado damaged a turkey farm in the sw corner (Allegan county), a notorious area for strong storm tracks coming across lake Michigan from Illinois and Indiana. It was probably an F0.

I hate to see all of the damage and deaths from that storm. Here in North Carolina, we had a bad tornado outbreak about a week ago. Not nearly like this last one though.

Mr. B:
Yes, I watched that one carefully also since I have friends who work at Eaton in Raleigh. I don't know how seriously the folks in NC took those storms, they seemed to have been surprised by them. Had plenty of time to get ready, the storms were being tracked for two days. God speed to those people, too.

I believe that 312 tornadoes have been classifed in the one day.

Re: Another tornado outbreak
I am planning to help out with tornado clean-up this weekend with our church. There are many individuals who have pitched in the lend a hand in this huge task.

Can you post an address (bonafide organization) to send relief funds?
Thanks

Re: Another tornado outbreak
Hi Spike,
Thanks for your offer to help the tornado victims. Other than the American Red Cross, I don't know of addresses to send funds to. Our group is simply helping with cleanup operations.
