Nashville flood

Post by Caribbean Traveler »

Nashville recorded its wettest day ever on sunday with about 7 inches of rain. With over 6 inches the day before, that gave a grand total of about 13 1/2" of rain in two days. That was their greatest two day rain total also. That more than doubled their previous two day total back in september of 1979. They set the record for wettest May after two days of the month!

The doppler estimated 10-15" of rainfall from near memphis to Nashville, north to central Kentucky!

We had a lot less rain here in Chattanooga. Nashville is not that far from us!

It is going to be a long time before things are normal again.

I'm still seeing pictures of houses under water. Is this current or have the waters receeded? I didn't quite catch that.

Still elevated in some areas I believe but the majority of the event is over. Very sad to hear about the Grand Ole Opry House

I saw pictures of the Opry. They're hoping to have it open in the fall and won't be taking reservations for a few weeks. It was a mess!
