A very cold pool of air will make it across the region... 850 temps near -5 C!

I saw on the GFS a little blob of 0C on the 850. How does something like that occur?

81F right now in Norfolk. Guess it can't last forever! This is interesting.

I saw that 228 hr forecast. The problem is that the boundary layer will be warmer by that time. It gets much harder for snow to reach the ground with marginal 850 temps.

Yea. After about Feb its hard to just look at the 850s. Looks like a bit of a break from the 81F degree weather we saw recently though. I am getting too used to these warm temps! ;fisherman:

After low 70's a couple of days ago to mid 30's and light snow this morning.
