Fantasyland
This is where a lot of forecasters get reeled in. Can you believe that the GFS is producing another blizzard up the east coast? That's two weeks away. Just keep this tucked in the back of your mind as an exercise. This will be interesting to watch. Will it verify as a snowstorm or mild and 60 degrees?

Re: Fantasyland
The forecast has already changed to no surprise. It has a couple of medium size systems about 10-13 days away with no blizzard. We'll keep watcing to see if it comes back.

I know that I'm probably in the minority but I hope the snow is over for the winter. I have landscaping to do and this cold and snow isn't helping.

Kow - a - bung -a Does the GFS actually know something?
It still thinks something is going to happen around March 18-19

Re: Fantasyland
New 6z model this morning has moved the system about 500 miles north. This will be interesting to watch to see if this 'storm' actually turns out to be something.

Re: Fantasyland
After losing the storm for several models runs, it has come back. The cold air is somewhat marginal and the storm a weaker than previously forecast.

Re: Fantasyland
Same trend from last night's GFS. The storm is back with marginal cold air.

Re: Fantasyland
We'll the blizzard is totally gone. People woner why meteorologists can't get it right. It's fun but dangerous looking at the extended forecasts!

Re: Fantasyland
I guess this experiment on extended model runs is over. No sign of the storm that was forecasted for next week. Just wait until hurricane season when there will seemingly always be a hurricane threatening the U.S. or Caribbean in the extended forecast.
