Wednesday early afternoon

The disturbance has finally been classified as real data from the island of Soccoro confirmed that this is a depression.

It is south of Baja and may briefly become a storm before it moves wnw over colder water and starts to weaken.

Thursday AM

Tropical storm Gil continues to move wnw and poses no problem to Mexico.

Gil contiues to move west away from land. Satellite loop shows shear on the storm's east side. Still holding onto deep convection of western half.
Gil poses not threat to land.

Gil is a non player. It continues to move away from land. It will remain a tropical storm for a short while before weakening as it moves west.

Gil is a depression. Last update....unless regeneration occurs near Hawaii several days down the road.
